General Volunteer
• Assist with center administrative tasks
• Chaperone Field trips
• Maintaining student records – registration forms, typing speeds, work samples
• Researching the Internet – for activities, websites and worksheets for various age levels that follow the curriculum theme
• Assist in supervision of the children in the CLCP Center
a. Interact with the children in an appropriate manner
b. Converse with children
c. Role model appropriate behavior
• Contribute creative decoration ideas for the center
• Assist children with homework
• Read to children
• Provide one-on-one assistance on computer with younger children
• Distribute snacks
• Assist students with homework
Technical Assistant Primary Responsibility: Provide secondary technical support to the Computer Learning Centers.
Desired Qualifications: Volunteers should have a strong background in computers to include course work in programming, web page design, knowledge of Microsoft software applications and basic hardware upgrade and repair.
Functions within this Position:
• assist in the repair/upgrading of equipment
• install hard/software on computers
• assist in teaching a class on computer repair
• work with students on specific technical projects
Curriculum Assistant
Primary Responsibility: Assist in the development of training curriculum.
Desired Qualifications: Volunteers should have a strong background in computers to include course work in web page design, knowledge of Microsoft software applications and training experience. Experience with school aged children.
Functions within this Position:
• conduct software training for mastery of basic skills
• develop on-line activities for school aged children using MS Office and other software packages
• create a multi-media projects
Program/Evaluation Assistant
Primary Responsibility: This position will provide support in the measurement and evaluation of the Computer Learning Centers Partnership.
Desired Qualifications: Volunteers should have a strong education, sociology or psychology background. Experience/education in survey design and interpretation strongly desired. Experience with school aged children.
Functions within this Position:
• assist in administering a pre/post measurement tools for CLCP students
• survey/interview parents/teachers and computer lab users
• prepare reports using statistical data
